Rosa sub Rosa 7 - Triptych of Hellish Delights (2010)

In their annual Rosa sub Rosa series the Rosa Ensemble offers young artists a chance to work for and with the ensemble in making a performance. The series is about music and experiment, development and encounter. For Rosa sub Rosa 7: Triptych of Hellish Delights two composers present their highly personal vision of hell: a musical journey in a performance full of surprises.

Anticantate (2009)

An intriguing surround-performance in which music, images and text in six languages are intertwined. In these sombre times of wars and financial crisis the Rosa Ensemble goes looking for the perfect harmony and an inner strength one isn’t aware of.

Rosa sub Rosa 6 - Drinking Songs (2009)

Utrecht's venerable Rosa Ensemble joins forces with six composers from The Hague in the premiere of "Drinking Songs," a kaleidoscopic series of pieces which examine different aspects of human endeavor through the lens of a drinking glass. Kookpunt - In The Whisk of a Lamb's Tail (2009)

Kookpunt, 'In The Whisk Of A Lamb’s Tail' is a family-perfomance in which smell, taste, images and sound come together. Harry de Wit and the Rosa Ensemble make a kitchen sound like never before. ‘In The Whisk Of A Lamb’s Tail' is kitchen-music for the whole family.

BigLifeHi (2008)

In a small electro/ acoustic formation Rosa plays music of Verdi, Martijn Padding, Wilbert Bulsink, Daniel Cross and Jeroen Kimman. The sound of BigLifeHi reminds of contemporary ambient pop instead of the traditional New Music. BigLifeHi is an accessible performance with theatrical elements which makes the visitor experience what Rosa is capable of.

Continental Drift (2006-07)

The Rosa Ensemble celebrates its ten year existence with Continental Drift, with which the ensemble finally finds its own voice, after ten years of experimentation. Rosa wants to distill her own voice after the previous years of musical research in all kinds of genres and disciplines: music theater, blues, contemporary chamber music, improvised music, literary theater and techno.

Vaandragers (2006)

The music theater performance Vaandragers ('Flag carriers') is a performance about hope for progress and the positive feeling of construction. The audience joins in an almost happy, optimistic play of music, text and sound.

Selling Hoovers in Mojave (2004-05)

Rosa digs deep into the mystery surrounding Don van Vliet AKA Captain Beefheart. Actor Hans Dagelet talks, raps, sings and plays the trumpet. Rosa rubs, crows and crunches. The lyrics are translated in Dutch.
